Wine is an Experience
Wine can sometimes feel like a world of its own: from the verbiage and varietals to tasting notes and pairing suggestions, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed. As a winemaker, and someone who has grown up in the wine industry, I am still continuing to learn new things about wine and this industry. For me, learning a new concept (that creates an amazing wine) is exciting and provides me with the opportunity to try to implement it in our wine program (or just find examples from other wineries to try). As many of you know, when we get excited about something, often, we talk about it a lot.
Beyond enjoying our wines at our winery, we aim to create a relaxed environment where you can learn, ask questions, and, most importantly, taste a variety of wines to see firsthand how different techniques, terroir, and our history influence the final product. Our goal isn’t just to teach you about wine—it’s to make you feel more connected to what’s in your glass.
We started 2025 with our annual Blending Workshop, which was a huge success. Each customer was able to learn how to blend four barrel samples and even purchase a kit to continue the wine blending experience at home. We are planning to continue to sell the blending kits through Valentine’s Day weekend.
It is heartwarming to hear from all of you that you would like to continue to learn about what we do for a living—from harvest to evaluating wines in the glass. Who knows, maybe we should establish our own wine certification program! Our next event is our Blind Tasting Workshop in March where our WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) certified Tasting Room Manager, Christian will teach customers how to evaluate wines like a sommelier.
So, whether you would like to visit the winery as part of a relaxing day in the country, just to enjoy our wines, or to learn during your visit, all of us here at Loew are looking forward to contributing to your experience.
